Revlon Fuchsia Fever and Revlon Tangerine Swatch and Review

 Hey everyone! I'm sorry I've been missing for a few weeks! I was busy preparing for my sweet 17th birthday and a load of assignments from my school, because it's almost the end of the term!!

Anyway, for my birthday, my friend Ghea gave me 6 bottles of Revlon Nail Polish!
They are:
  • Tangerine
  • Hushed Blush
  • Smoldering
  • Copperglaze Platinum
  • Raisin Rage
  • Fuchsia Fever
Today, I'll be swatching Revlon Fuchsia Fever and Tangerine, which are both perfect for summer! <3

 Revlon Fuchsia Fever is a creme fuchsia that can be opaque in 1 coat, but since I'm so sloppy, I needed a second coat. I really like this one, which is surprising since I'm not a fan of neon or pink.
I think it's very perfect for a day on the beach! 2 coats, no topcoat or basecoat.

 Revlon Tangerine is an orange with pearly shimmer, that actually shows up even under low light!
This is 2 coats, no topcoat or basecoat.

NOTD: Balinese Tenun Ikat inspired Nails

Hello everyone!

I saw looxperiments's Looxhallenge for this month which is: INDONESIA BANGET! and knew I have to do this one (that's just an excuse for not having any more ideas what to do on my nails! :p)

As you guys who follow me on instagram knows, I was the 3rd finalist in a fashion inspired nail art competition held by an account in instagram, and the nail that placed the 3rd was inspired by my Batik Cloth! I'll show it to you guys sometime :)

This nail art is inspired by Balinese Tenun Ikat. The pattern is on a sling bag bought by my teacher as an oleh-oleh (souvenir) from Bali :D

The products used:
  • Elianto Nail Polish in Twilight Zone;
  • The Face Shop Platinum Face&it Nails in GL111;
  • Color Club Blue Heaven;
  • Rhinestones from Nail Art House;
  • Revlon Top Speed Topcoat

So, what do you think? :)

#NailArtApr 11: Bright - Etude House Jewelade PK004 Swatch and Review

Hi everyone! Today is supposed to be a nail art April challenge: bright, but since I'm almost close to my final examination, the school is crazy with tasks and tests, so instead of making a nail art, I'm just gonna do a swatch of a neon pink:
Etude House Jewelade PK004

the bottle. Cute packaging!
 All the photos below are with a coat of Etude House Help My Finger Sunshine Whitener, 3 coats of Etude House Jewelade PK004, and a coat of Revlon Super Top Speed Topcoat.

Under artificial lighting

The nail polish itself is a hot pink with magenta shimmers, which of course, doesn't transfer to the photograph!

Under my camera's built it flash, you can see the shimmer, but only faintly.

Formula wise, it's like the other Etude House Jewelade polishes, a bit thick but still manageable.

So, what do you think? Do you have an Etude House Jewelade polish in your stash? :)

NOTD: Magnum Gold Nails

Hey guys! I am back again with another NOTD (Nail of The Day). This one is inspired by my favorite ice cream brand, Wall's Magnum Gold!

First, the close up of each of my nails:
my pinky
My ring finger

my middle finger
my pointer
my thumb
The base color us Innisfree #69, Autumn Leaves. It's a duochrome that flashes magenta to dark red to gold. I LOVE IT!
All the ice cream and logos are made with mostly nail polish. Acrylic paints are only used on those white lines to create shading.

I'm still a long way to go from perfection! Please forgive the empty gaps between lines or uneven lines!

#NailArtApr April 7th: Rainbow Braided Glitter Placement Nails

Hello again everyone!
Today is April 7th, and in the Nail Art April Challenge, today's challenge is braided nails!
If you don't know, braided nails is a nail art pattern made popular last year. I saw it on cutepolish's Youtube video, and gave it a try. But for today's nails, I gave it a twist!

 Instead of using just polish, I used loose hex glitter I bought 2 months ago in a craft store near my house! And instead of using 3 colors, I used 5 colors so it looks like a rainbow!

Oooooooh, I feel like I have a disco ball on my nails! It's so shiny and bright and colorful!

The base color is Revlon - Black Lingerie. If you don't have loose glitter, the glitters on your favorite glitter polish can also be used to make this.
Pick a loose glitter using a wooden stick, or if you don't have it, the tip of your dotting tool or mechanic pencil is a great substitute!

close-up. Not so tidy up close :(
So, what do you think? I love this technique!

#NailArtApr Challenge : Etude House Jewelade RD102 Swatch and Review

Hi again readers! Today I have another Korean polish to show you (I'll get to the USA polishes soon!)
This one was given to my by my auntie back in Lampung, because she told me she doesn't use the polish anymore. It's called Etude House Jewelade RD102.
Just in time for another entry at Nail Art April Challenge by Californails for April 4th: Swatch!
Bottle shot
Etude House Jewelade RD102 is a red jelly based polish with gold/red glass flecks that shows up under bright lights. For these photos I used 3 coats and a topcoat. As always, I put on Etude House Help My Finger Sunshine Whitener as basecoat.
Under direct indoor lighting

Taken with my camera flash.
a close up shot. Kinda looks like watermelon, right?

Because of the jelly formula, you have to layer it again for opacity. At 3 coats I still see some VNL (Visible Nail Line). This line is discontinued now, sadly. But I think it's really pretty because of the tiny flecks that flashes gold on some angles.
Thank you for reading, and see you soon!

#NailArtApr Challenge Day 1 : Flowers NOTD + Tutorial

Hey everyone!
I've seen lots of nail bloggers and artists do nail art challenges. And the one that caught my eye is the one made by Californails. Here's my Day 1 to Nail Art April Challenge (I'm a few days late, sorry!) which is Flowers!

 I've put together a little tutorial for you guys, and here's what you need:

From Right to Left:
  • Etude House Help My Finger Sunshine Whitener as basecoat;
  • Etude House Jewelade RD201;
  • Etude House Look at My Cotton Candy Nails COR202;
  • The Face Shop Lovely Me: EX Nails YL702;
  •  Etude House Look at My Cotton Candy Nails CWH901;
  • Skin Food Nail Vita BL512;
  • Pokari for Stroberi 6190 Metallic Green;
  • and Revlon Super Top Speed Top Coat as top coat.
The steps:
  1. Paint your nails the base color you wanted.
  2. Using a darker color of what you wanted for your roses, draw a not perfect circle. Fill it in.
  3. Draw another circle with the lighter color.
  4. Start making a dot in the middle of your circle and create the 'petals' by making a half-moon shape using the lighter color. Let it dry.
  5. Do the 4th step with darker color on the other circle.
  6. Using white, draw half-moon shape on both circles, not overlapping the colors you've created.
  7. Draw little triangles coming out of the flower using a green polish or acrylic paint.
  8. Highlight the leaves with a lighter shade of green in the middle of the triangle.
  9. Top coat to seal it off and you're done!

The tools I used in this mani is my trusty old Cotman 0000 brush.

It's a little crooked on the edges because I don't rotate it often enough! :p
If you have any questions, comment below or mention me on twitter or Instagram.

Hope you guys enjoy my post, and see you soon!

Eternally High Color Nail Polish 837 Swatch & Review

Hello again everyone! Today I have another nail polish from my vault I want to show you. It's called Eternally High Color Nail Polish 837 (such a long name!). Today, April 2, is Autism Awareness Day, which is why I choose to show you a blue polish. I wanted to make some nail art on 837, but I didn't have the time due to exams and assignments from my school that I still have to finish.
Anyway, let's get to the pictures!

The bottle & my nails

With flash
In these pictures I used 3 coats and topcoat. The topcoat I used is Revlon Top Speed Top Coat. Formula wise, I don't think this one is the best out there. After a few times of using it, it starts to get thick & lumpy, and hard to get it to even out, even at 3 coats. But for stamping, because of the thickness of the formula, it's awesome. I'll show you sometime how this polish looks like for stamping.

I bought this at Mall Taman Anggrek in Jakarta, Indonesia at Rp33.000 (about 3USD). So, what does your Autism Awareness Day mani looks like? :)
