Etude House Play Nails Masterpost (WARNING: Photo Heavy!)

Hello again everyone! Today I'll be talking about the Korean brand Etude House's nail polishes; which are called Play Nails.

*DISCLAIMER*: Please do not use my photos without giving credit or without my permission.
All my babies lined up and neat... I didn't have the heart to throw them back in my drawers :(

All the swatch will be applied live on this video below:

One of the problem that I found is that Etude House uses a different name for different types of nail polishes compared to the regular brands. To help you, I have a list of the 'dictionary':
  • P 페랑트 = Paint
Paint means that the color is opaque in just one coat. But in my experience, even the nail polishes labeled as P can definitely use a second coat to even out the nail polishes.
  • J 젤리 = Jelly
Jelly means that the polish needs 2-3 coats to reach opacity, and yes, their formula is actually creamy, not jelly.
  • Y 요거트 = Yoghurt
Yoghurt nails means crelly glitter, like China Glaze It's A Trap-eze.
  • G 글리터 = Glitter
Pretty self explanatory, right?
  • S 쉬머링 = Shimmer
This is where it gets confusing, Etude House provides 2 types of nail polish with the 'S' code. One is a shimmer, and another one is Syrup.
  • S 시럽  = Syrup
Syrup right here is what us normal people call 'Jelly', which means that it's sheer and squishy!
  • PG 펄글리터  = Pearl Glitter
Pearl Glitter in this context means opaque creamy nail polish that has glitters/shimmers throughout.
  • NG 네은글리터 = Neon Glitter
Neon Glitter. Pretty self explanatory.
  • H 흘로그렘 = Hologram
Another self-explanatory code.
  • L 레더 = Leather
Leather = texture.
  • PS 펄시럽 = Pearl Syrup
Jelly polish with shimmers.
  • N 네은  =  Neon
Obviously, neon means neon.

Wet n Wild Fergie EA003 Gold Album swatch and review

Hello again everyone!
I am SWAMPED with exams and tryouts, but I will be back right after the national exam, April 18th! But right now all I can post is old swatches and nail art :(

Anyway, today I have Wet n Wild Fergie Gold Album to show you. I bought this a few day before Chinese New Year, at Sogo Emporium Pluit.

The ever so lovely SA offered me the nail polish package, which consists of 4 WnW normal nail polish for IDR199.000, but I told her that I already have all the colors, and what I wanted is the Fergie collection (even though I don't have any WnW nail color, sorry mbak!) and then she told me I can have 3 WnW fergie plus a topcoat for IDR199.000, even though the normal price is IDR79.000 a bottle ;)

Ang without further ado, here's the swatch of Gold Album:

Rainbow Tie Dye NOTD + tutorial

 Hi again! Today I have another tutorial for you.

 The ingredients:

 Step 1: Paint your nails with your base coat.

 Step 2: Paint your nails white. Wait for it to completely dry and put a drop of red nail polish on a piece of paper of whatever you use as a base if you do nail art.
 Step 3: Using your brush, thinly trace the way you want your tie dye to look like. In here I made it looks a bit like conch shells (?).
Step 4: USing the same red polish, paint the thin line onto something bigger using 'dragging' motion outwards.
 Using the other colors, do the same thing as step 4.
 On the 3rd or 4th color, start doing the same thing to the edge of your nails.

 On your 5th or 6th color, paint the your nails to create that circular tie-dye effect.

 Step 5: After you're done, do it again to make the colors POP.

 Step 6: Seal the design with top coat.

Optional: Add a glitter top coat. (Here I use OPI Servin' Up Sparkle)

And this is the whole design on all 4. What do you think? :)

Etude House Dear My Summer Glitters Nails Swatches and Review (bilingual post) OR203, PK003, WH901

 Hi again everyone! Today I'm back with swatches of the new Etude House Dear My Summer Nails Glitter!

The collection itself consist of 4 glitters, PK003, OR203, WH901, and WH902. Sadly, my supplier only has 3 of them, without the WH902, which will come later this month. Can't wait!!
Meanwhile, I'll show you guys what I did with the rest of the collection.

All the swatches are with The Face Shop Face It Base Coat.

Hai semuanya!
Can't wait!!
Sementara itu, aku akan memperlihatkan sisanya.

Semua swatch ini menggunakan The Face Shop Face It Base Coat.

OR203 Bottle Shot
First up, OR203.
It's a glitter topper consist of yellow, matte white and orange assortment of glitters, even star glitters and silver 'wajik' glitters in a clear base with micro holo shimmer.

Pertama, OR203.
Etude House Dear My Summer Glitter OR203 (1 coat) over Etude House Dear My Deep Nails DBE101 Lazy Beige (3 coats).
 Formula wise, I think Etude still hasn't updated the old lumpy base, which can cause a few problems, such as bubbling on the nail because the glitter base can't dry quick enough.

Etude House Dear My Summer Glitter OR203 (1 coat) over Etude House Dear My Deep Nails DGR701 Tint Mint (2 coats).

Look at the orange star glitter! Love it so much <3

With Etude House Matte Real Nail Top Coat (1 coat)

Etude House Dear My Summer Glitter OR203 (1 coat) over Etude House Dear My Deep Nails DGR701 Tint Mint (2 coats).
Out of the whole bunch, this is my favorite as it's very versatile, and can be a topper on any color and they'll still pop! (except yellows or orange, obviously.)

the 2nd one, WH901.

Dan yang ke-2, WH901.
WH901 Bottle Shot
 It looks a lot like OR203, but instead of staying in the citrus-y color palette, this one ranges from pastel pink, purple, green, and matte white on a clear base with less micro shimmers than OR203.

Etude House Dear My Summer Glitter WH901 (1 coat) over Etude House Dear My Deep Nails DGR701 Tint Mint (2 coats).

With Etude House Matte Real Nail Top Coat (1 coat)
and the 3rd, PK003.

Dan yang ke-3, PK003.

PK003 Bottle Shot
 PK003 is an assortment of baby pink glitters with matte red, white, and black square and hex glitters in a clear base.

Etude House Dear My Summer Glitter PK003 (1 coat) over Etude House Dear My Deep Nails DGR701 Tint Mint (2 coats).

Etude House Dear My Summer Glitter PK003 (1 coat) over Etude House Dear My Deep Nails DBE101 Lazy Beige (3 coats).

With Etude House Matte Real Nail Top Coat (1 coat)

Left- Etude House Dear My Party Nails PPK007 brush. Right- Etude House Dear My Summer Glitter Nails OR203
As you can see in the picture above, Etude has new brushes which is slightly smaller and thinner from the old collection. I prefer the new brush :)

 Overall, I really like the collection because they look like the now booming indie polishes. I'm just disappointed with the formula for WH901 and OR203. Because of the dense glitter, the formula in PK003 is a tad better.
If I have to pick only one from the whole collection, I'll pick OR203, because they're super gorgeous, formula aside.

All the Etude House Dear My Summer Glitter Nails are bought from Warxisister OS (website/Facebook) for 35.000 IDR each. They sell ready stock Korean and USA makeup, but are also open for Pre-Order. They are one of the cheapest original makeup seller I've ever encountered :)

#NailArtApr Challenge : Etude House Jewelade RD102 Swatch and Review

Hi again readers! Today I have another Korean polish to show you (I'll get to the USA polishes soon!)
This one was given to my by my auntie back in Lampung, because she told me she doesn't use the polish anymore. It's called Etude House Jewelade RD102.
Just in time for another entry at Nail Art April Challenge by Californails for April 4th: Swatch!
Bottle shot
Etude House Jewelade RD102 is a red jelly based polish with gold/red glass flecks that shows up under bright lights. For these photos I used 3 coats and a topcoat. As always, I put on Etude House Help My Finger Sunshine Whitener as basecoat.
Under direct indoor lighting

Taken with my camera flash.
a close up shot. Kinda looks like watermelon, right?

Because of the jelly formula, you have to layer it again for opacity. At 3 coats I still see some VNL (Visible Nail Line). This line is discontinued now, sadly. But I think it's really pretty because of the tiny flecks that flashes gold on some angles.
Thank you for reading, and see you soon!

#NailArtApr Challenge Day 1 : Flowers NOTD + Tutorial

Hey everyone!
I've seen lots of nail bloggers and artists do nail art challenges. And the one that caught my eye is the one made by Californails. Here's my Day 1 to Nail Art April Challenge (I'm a few days late, sorry!) which is Flowers!

 I've put together a little tutorial for you guys, and here's what you need:

From Right to Left:
  • Etude House Help My Finger Sunshine Whitener as basecoat;
  • Etude House Jewelade RD201;
  • Etude House Look at My Cotton Candy Nails COR202;
  • The Face Shop Lovely Me: EX Nails YL702;
  •  Etude House Look at My Cotton Candy Nails CWH901;
  • Skin Food Nail Vita BL512;
  • Pokari for Stroberi 6190 Metallic Green;
  • and Revlon Super Top Speed Top Coat as top coat.
The steps:
  1. Paint your nails the base color you wanted.
  2. Using a darker color of what you wanted for your roses, draw a not perfect circle. Fill it in.
  3. Draw another circle with the lighter color.
  4. Start making a dot in the middle of your circle and create the 'petals' by making a half-moon shape using the lighter color. Let it dry.
  5. Do the 4th step with darker color on the other circle.
  6. Using white, draw half-moon shape on both circles, not overlapping the colors you've created.
  7. Draw little triangles coming out of the flower using a green polish or acrylic paint.
  8. Highlight the leaves with a lighter shade of green in the middle of the triangle.
  9. Top coat to seal it off and you're done!

The tools I used in this mani is my trusty old Cotman 0000 brush.

It's a little crooked on the edges because I don't rotate it often enough! :p
If you have any questions, comment below or mention me on twitter or Instagram.

Hope you guys enjoy my post, and see you soon!

Eternally High Color Nail Polish 837 Swatch & Review

Hello again everyone! Today I have another nail polish from my vault I want to show you. It's called Eternally High Color Nail Polish 837 (such a long name!). Today, April 2, is Autism Awareness Day, which is why I choose to show you a blue polish. I wanted to make some nail art on 837, but I didn't have the time due to exams and assignments from my school that I still have to finish.
Anyway, let's get to the pictures!
Eternally High Color Nail Polish 837 under my table lamp

The bottle & my nails

With flash
In these pictures I used 3 coats and topcoat. The topcoat I used is Revlon Top Speed Top Coat. Formula wise, I don't think this one is the best out there. After a few times of using it, it starts to get thick & lumpy, and hard to get it to even out, even at 3 coats. But for stamping, because of the thickness of the formula, it's awesome. I'll show you sometime how this polish looks like for stamping.

I bought this at Mall Taman Anggrek in Jakarta, Indonesia at Rp33.000 (about 3USD). So, what does your Autism Awareness Day mani looks like? :)

NOTD: World Water Day Water Marble

Hey again, everybody! I'm really really sorry I've been missing for a few months, my internet is acting up again and I can't upload any photos to this blog! :(
Anyway, today is March 22, which is World Water Day. To celebrate it, I made a water marble using my new Korean polishes, Etude House CWH901 and Innisfree Eco Nails 69. I used Etude House Help My Finger Sunshine Whitener as base coat and Revlon Top Speed Top Coat to seal it off.

This is my third successful attempt time using water marble technique. I finally figured out what went wrong. The polishes I used in the failed attempt were all too thick. Here's the photo:
  Head on to my instagram page!

Ozotic 505 Swatch and Review

Hello everyone! Today I have a very unique polish, which I really love! It's Ozotic Multichrome 505. Just from the name, you can know that it's a multichrome. Sadly, this line has been discontinued, so there are only a handful of bottle left all around the world. The polish itself is a multichrome that shifts from green to blue to purple to magenta to bronze/gold on extreme angle. Let's get to the picture!

The macro shot. Look at all those color-shifting particles!
I seriously don't know how to take a picture of multichrome, but this is the best shot that I could capture, that shows almost all the colors on this polish.
Ozotic is an Australian brand that sells pretty polishes, ranging from Multichromes to Holos to Shimmers.
The purple-blue shift
All the picture shows a coat of Ozotic 505 over 2 coats of Revlon Black Lingerie. No topcoat. (Not that it needs any, it's already so shiny without it!)
gold/bronze - magenta - purple! <3<3

I bought the polish at Bubbletalk Shop for IDR160.000. Pretty expensive, I know, but it's so worth it!
