Beauty Story Aqua Rose Swatches and Review

Hey everyone!
First of all, to say that I was missing is the understatement of the year. Sorry for that, I somehow found that blogging doesn't bring me happiness as it used to, since none of my friends even read my blog (lol). After a newfound passion and also the realization that I have lots of materials for my blog but never even posted them made me write this, in the middle of the night, just wanting to show you some pretty nail polishes that I received last year (or maybe it was 2016... I seriously forgot).

Anyways, today's post is about an Indonesian local brand, one that is widely known for its cute and awesome beauty products. They sent me a few things so that I can post them on my instagram, but the pics never found its way to my blog since I abandoned it. This nail polish line is called Aqua Rose, which is a tribute to the formula and also the cute bottle it comes in. It's a water-based nail polish packaged in rose-shaped bottle and it's so gorgeous!

Read more for my review and swatches of EVERY SINGLE COLOR in this line.

The Body Shop Colour Crush Mint Creme Swatch and Review

Heya guys!
I finally did a swatch on these The Body Shop Colour Crush nail polish in Mint Creme. It's a pretty blue-green pastel that I think should be a staple in every girl's nail polish collection.

By the way, I made a new logo to make my editing a little bit easier, what do you think?

I bought these at the Body Shop counter in Emporium Pluit for IDR 99.000, and I've had this for a couple of months now but didn't have the chance to play with it until now.

For these swatches I did 3 coats and a layer of Seche Vite topcoat.

For the formula, I think it's a bit thick and kind of uneven at 2 coats so I added an extra thin layer to even it out and add topcoat for that glossy finish. I love my Seche Vite but the shrinking... OMG I'm ready to kill a man whenever I see that shrinkage near my cuticle area!

For 99.000, you get 6,8 ml of product and it's quite a reasonable price IMO.

And I added some floral patterns for KuteksJunkies challenge:

I think that's it for today, and I will see you guys soon!

Love,
Sovi

Etude House Play Nails Masterpost (WARNING: Photo Heavy!)

Hello again everyone! Today I'll be talking about the Korean brand Etude House's nail polishes; which are called Play Nails.

*DISCLAIMER*: Please do not use my photos without giving credit or without my permission.
All my babies lined up and neat... I didn't have the heart to throw them back in my drawers :(

All the swatch will be applied live on this video below:

One of the problem that I found is that Etude House uses a different name for different types of nail polishes compared to the regular brands. To help you, I have a list of the 'dictionary':
  • P 페랑트 = Paint
Paint means that the color is opaque in just one coat. But in my experience, even the nail polishes labeled as P can definitely use a second coat to even out the nail polishes.
  • J 젤리 = Jelly
Jelly means that the polish needs 2-3 coats to reach opacity, and yes, their formula is actually creamy, not jelly.
  • Y 요거트 = Yoghurt
Yoghurt nails means crelly glitter, like China Glaze It's A Trap-eze.
  • G 글리터 = Glitter
Pretty self explanatory, right?
  • S 쉬머링 = Shimmer
This is where it gets confusing, Etude House provides 2 types of nail polish with the 'S' code. One is a shimmer, and another one is Syrup.
  • S 시럽  = Syrup
Syrup right here is what us normal people call 'Jelly', which means that it's sheer and squishy!
  • PG 펄글리터  = Pearl Glitter
Pearl Glitter in this context means opaque creamy nail polish that has glitters/shimmers throughout.
  • NG 네은글리터 = Neon Glitter
Neon Glitter. Pretty self explanatory.
  • H 흘로그렘 = Hologram
Another self-explanatory code.
  • L 레더 = Leather
Leather = texture.
  • PS 펄시럽 = Pearl Syrup
Jelly polish with shimmers.
  • N 네은  =  Neon
Obviously, neon means neon.

The New Sally Hansen Triple Shine Pixie Slicks, Oyster Bar, Twinkled Pink swatch and review

Heya!

I'm back with another blog post about an event (woah, so busy, Sov?)

So on June 26th, I was invited to Sally Hansen Indonesia's Triple Shine Launching event. At first I wasn't invited, but the lovely Ci Chell asked me to come :D

Anyhow, the event took place in Bistronomy Jakarta, a beautiful restaurant in South Jakarta. I was the second person to arrive there, so I sat down and chatted with Ms. Amy, and when she asked me what I blog about, of course I say nail polish, right? And she was shocked because she has never heard of or seen Indonesian nail blogger. Mostly beauty blogger who includes nail-related post but not really a nail blogger. It's okay though, this only means that Indonesian Nail-related communities and bloggers are blooming ;)

Back to the event, we were all seated in a 3-seat table, which has 4 nail colors on each table.

Wet n Wild Fergie EA003 Gold Album swatch and review

Hello again everyone!
I am SWAMPED with exams and tryouts, but I will be back right after the national exam, April 18th! But right now all I can post is old swatches and nail art :(

Anyway, today I have Wet n Wild Fergie Gold Album to show you. I bought this a few day before Chinese New Year, at Sogo Emporium Pluit.

The ever so lovely SA offered me the nail polish package, which consists of 4 WnW normal nail polish for IDR199.000, but I told her that I already have all the colors, and what I wanted is the Fergie collection (even though I don't have any WnW nail color, sorry mbak!) and then she told me I can have 3 WnW fergie plus a topcoat for IDR199.000, even though the normal price is IDR79.000 a bottle ;)

Ang without further ado, here's the swatch of Gold Album:

OPI Alcatraz...Rocks Swatch and Review

Hi again everyone! Today I have another stunning textured polish, this one from OPI's F/W 2013 line, San Fransisco. Yes, it is the uber gorgeous Alcatraz... Rocks.

For these swatches I used 2 coats of OPI Alcatraz Rocks over a peel-off basecoat.
See that sparkle? I fell in love at the first swatch <3.

I tried using Alcatraz...Rocks over a normal base coat, and upon removal, I found that even after with foil technique, there were still traces of gold /champagne sparkle on my nails. Nothing a swipe of cotton pad soaked with acetone couldn't fix, though.

And with top coat, just look at that holographic sparkle!

A macro shot of my thumb. You can see the golds/champagne particles I mentioned earlier.

I bought this polish from Mrs. Lilis, for IDR95.000,-
What do you think? Are you digging the textured polish trend? I absolutely love shimmer textures!

Zoya Pixiedust Carter Swatch and Review

Hey guys! I'm starting to dedicate more time for this blog because I actually enjoy blogging a lot! ;)
Today I have my newest obsession, which is textured polish. Not just any textured polish, but the special PixieDust that everyone talks about :D

From Zoya's newest Fall/Winter line, I bought one, which is Carter, a gorgeous royal purple with fuchsia glitters. one word: AMAZING!!

For these swatches I used 2 coats of Zoya Carter over The Face Shop's Peel Off Basecoat :)
See dat texture? GORGEOUSSS!!

Zoya itself is a 5-free brand, making it safe for pregnant ladies to use :)

with topcoat

Formula-wise, I find myself loving the brush and the formula is pretty good, not so goopy like OPI's Mariah Carey minis.

sorry it's blurry :(
I bought these from Mrs. Lilis, if you want to contact her you can message me or just comment below :)
I'm so sad because with dollar rates rising up, the prices on nail polish also got an additional tax price. Zoyas on Mrs. Lilis's shop is usually 90.000, but because of the dollar rates, I had to pay 95.000 + shipping fee :(

Anyway, do you have any Zoya PixieDust? Do you like it? Comment below ;)

The Face Shop Colored Paper Nails CMX321, CMX324, and CMX325 Swatch and Review

Hi guys! Today from the vault I bring you my new favourite glitters from another Korean Brand, the Face Shop.
So, The Face Shop just recently came out with 6 new shades of glitter for a collection called Colored Paper Nails. Curious name, don't you think? I don't know whether they exactly are made from some sort of paper or any other ingredient, but I'm sure I love how flat they lay on my nails! ;)

Out of the whole 6, I bought only 3, which are: CMX321, CMX324, and CMX325.

*All swatches are with basecoat and topcoat*

 First up, CMX321.
CMX321 is a mix of matte green, white, pink hex glitter with some small red and small square white glitters on a clear base.
Now, the glitters look a lot like Etude House's Pink Prism, just without the small or white glitters.

For these swatches, I used 2 coats of CMX321 over Nars x Pierre Hardy Ethno Run Left.

For application, I have no trouble at all, no fishing for the glitters at all but I need to place the glitters because it keeps huddling up at the end of my nails.
Didn't know what happened, but as you can see in the photo below, it kinda bubbles :(
Drying time is okay, although it dries to a not-so-shiny surface (if you get what I mean)
so sad that it has bubbles :(

Next up is CMX324. Now, I'm a big fan of white and black glitters, and I knew I had to get these ones the moment I saw the official announcement on the website!

CMX324 is a mix of black and white glitter in various size and shapes, including black matte diamond glitters, that needs some fishing on application. The rest of the glitter floats smoothly on top of my nails.

For these photos I used 2 coats of CMX324 over Beauty Buffet B22.

And last but not least, CMX325. I didn't really like it on bottle, but after I put it on, I'm hooked!

CMX325 is a mix of of red, fuchsia, orange, blue, and pale blue hex small glitters with some pale blue square and silver diamonds thrown in on a clear base.

For application, I have no trouble, but for the diamond glitters. Some fishings were needed.
For these swatches I used 2 coats of CMX325 over black because I don't know what else to layer it with.

Formula wise, they're pretty awesome, not as thick as Etude House's Dear My Party Nails, but still thicker than OPI or China Glaze's.

All in all, I really love this collection. If I have some spare money, maybe I'd complete the collection one day ;)

I bought these nail polishes from my favorite online shop, Warxisister OS. They cost 48.000 IDR per bottle, which is about 4.27 USD. Dollar rates are really high in Indonesia right now, every imported goods are getting pricey and more pricey :( Nail polishes got a raise from 3000 IDR to 15000 IDR :'(

SO, what do you think? Would you buy this nail polish collection?

Beauty Buffet B22, S03, S08 Review and Swatches

Hello again everyone! Sorry I've been MIA these past few weeks, I went to Bali for my summer vacation!
But now that I'm back, I'll show you my newest addition to my ever-growing collection of nail polish:
Beauty Buffet Nail Enamel!

Beauty Buffet itself is a Thai cosmetics brand. When I passed the booth in MBK Mall in Bangkok when I attended a meeting near there, I saw the neon yellow and I know I have to get it. Apparently, the store was having a promo, for a buy 3 for approximately 3$! I regretted not buying more :(

Beauty Buffet B22 in direct sunlight
Beauty Buffet B22 in shades
First up, B22. B22 is a blue based grey. For these swatches I used 3 coats. It's a bit on the thick side, but after 3 coats it's pretty self leveling, which is a great thing! I bought this one because I don't have any grey polish lol :p

Beauty Buffet S08 in direct sunlight
Beauty Buffet S08 in shades.
Next is S08. it's such a pretty light blue that reminds me of sunny blue sky!
For these I used 2 coats. On the bottle it shows a bit of mint green, but after it dries on my nails it looks more blue. LOVELOVELOVE!

Beauty Buffet S03 in shades.
Beauty Buffet S03 in direct sunlight
Okay, now I know how everyone seems to complain about how hard it is to capture neon colors. Seriously, I think my camera hates me hahahaha!
Anyway, I've never been interested in neon colors, but that was before I met Karina, who loves yellows, greens, and basically any neon color except pink :p

For these, I used 2 coats of S03 over a white base to make the color POP even more.

So, do you know about Beauty Buffet? Have you ever heard of the brand?

Love,
Sovianaty.

My favourite of the whole bunch is BBL603, because I love blue and I love glitter toppers. What more can I say? :p

I bought these from Warxisister OS for IDR 30.000 a bottle. They also have a website here.

So, do you have any Bling in the Sea Nail Polish? If not, will you buy it? :)
