Sally Hansen I Heart Nailart Neon 140 Sunny Side Up Swatch and Review

Hey folks!
Today I have a new swatch post for you, although I'm currently preparing for my midterm.

Today's swatch is from Sally Hansen's newest line, the I Heart Nailart line, which consists of a neon nail polish line, 2 types of topcoat (Big Matte Topcoat and Big Shiny Topcoat), striper nail polish, and the I Heart Nailart Kits. The line will be available by November 2014, if everything goes smoothly.

I will be reviewing them all in a sequenced blog posts, but today I want to show you the neon nail polish, Sunny Side Up.

For these swatches I applied 2 coats of Sunny Side Up over a white nail polish, and topped it off with my favorite topcoat, Mega Shine topcoat.

More info and pics after the jump!

I personally think the color suits the name very well, because even though it's classified as neon, it's not really the usual highliter-yellow color, but still pretty bright and attention catching.
The formula is kind of thick in a gooey sense, like the gooeyness (I totally just made that word up lol) of an egg yolk. It applies smoothly even though I had to apply a second coat because there were still bald spots with one coat.

I tried using it on its own, and after the 4th coat but I still didn't get the opacity I'd liked, I erased it and applied it over white.

It dries to a sort of a satin finish that you'll see in a lot of neons, which I think is pretty normal though.

All in all, I think this polish would be amazing to layer with other colors, like this nail art by NailSide, but I'd pass this one if I want to add a yellow to my nail polish collection.

So, do you like this neon polish? Or do you prefer the conventional highlighter neon yellow? Comment below!
